Manage your privacy

Your 8flowy data lives in one of two places, depending on how you play. If you've never signed in, everything is in your own browser and you can erase it yourself in seconds. If you've signed in, there's also a copy of your synced progress on our servers, and this page explains how to disconnect from it or have it deleted.

Played without an account? Managing your data is entirely a matter of managing your own browser's storage. Signed in? Add one step: email us to delete the server-side copy.

What 8flowy stores

On your device, in your browser's localStorage: your theme and settings, your current game save, Journey and tutorial progress, daily-puzzle state, local statistics, and your name and avatar. The Cookies & local storage page lists every key by name. If you sign in, we also keep your email address, display name, avatar, puzzle progress, streak, achievements, and daily solve times on our servers so they can sync across devices; the Privacy policy has the details.

Clearing your local data

1 Open your browser's Settings (or the site-info "lock" icon in the address bar while on 8flowy.com).

2 Find PrivacyCookies and site data, or "Clear browsing data."

3 Choose to clear data for this site (8flowy.com), and confirm.

On most browsers you can also open the site-information panel from the address bar and use "Delete data" to wipe only 8flowy, leaving the rest of your browsing untouched.

What gets removed

Clearing this site's data deletes every local key: settings, your saved board, Journey progress, local statistics, name and avatar, and (if you were signed in) the token that keeps you signed in on this device. Afterwards 8flowy behaves exactly as it did the first time you opened it.

If you've never signed in, this can't be undone. Local-only progress has no backup on our side. If you have signed in, your synced progress is safe: sign back in and it returns.

If you're signed in

1 Sign out in the game to disconnect this device; your synced progress stays on our servers for your next sign-in.

2 Delete your account data by emailing [email protected] from the email address on your account. We'll delete your records (email, display name, avatar, progress, streak, achievements, and solve times) from our servers.

Making a request

Under privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA you have rights to access and delete your personal data. For local-only play you can satisfy those rights yourself using the steps above; for account data, one email to [email protected] from your account address does it. For the full picture, see our Privacy policy.
